costs R100,000 more than the current
asking price and not only is it only a
year old, but it is in as new condition.
The ever popular 147 in 2.0 litre form
is an excellent car, sporty, distinctive
and individual. The car comes with a
comprehensive 3yr or 60,000 kms
motorplan. To summarise, R100k cheaper
than a new one and no running costs for
the next 26000 kms. Take advantage of
this whacky deal while you can |

Another good example of the increasingly
rare Alfa Spider. It is right hand drive
and was formerly the personal car of
Amadeo, the man that fixed all our
Alfa's over the years but who, sadly,
was taken to the big workshop in the sky
recently. You can just imagine the
condition then. These cars are destined
for greatness in the future and are
already attracting good prices in

Respect to the previous owner of this
car because it is in superb condition.
It has a full service history with the
agents. The car is a revelation to
drive. I have always admired the way
Audi put their cars together and this is
no exception. It is smooth yet sporty,
functional yet stylish. The tiptronic
gearbox is excellent, as are the brakes
and suspension. It is just a very
attractive package, a good four seater,
a car that was over half a million rands
when new and is offered at a very
competitive price. You have to come and
see the condition to appreciate what a
good buy this is. |

one of these vehicles will say the same.
This is a cult machine of note. Not many
cars have ever been built under the
auspices of the Porsche factory, nor can
there be many non Porsches with this
level of finish or performance. This was
a very limited production run vehicle,
with only 15 coming to South Africa. I
would be interested to know how many of
those original 15 are left because in

AMI GP, is perhaps, the most original DS
left in South Africa, having covered a
mere 105,000 kms from new. I purchased
it many years ago from its original
owner. This example has spent all of its
life on the Highveld and subsequently is
absolutely rust free. There are a few
signs of old age, such as a couple of
cracks on the dash top, as wll as a
hardening of the original vinyl seats
resulting in a split or two, but apart
from that, it is a remarkable specimen.
It is a four speed manual. It wears
almost new tyres and has just returned
from a comprehensive service as well as
a new clutch at the DS Centre. I am
still enthralled by these cars, with
every drive being a most unique and
pleasurable experience. This car has
captured the attention of many, not
least of all a very reputable restorer
of Citroens in Europe who spent two days
photographing every detail of this car
for reference purposes, as he had never
seen such an original car. Of course, he
would like to own it but you know my
feelings about cars leaving this
country. Believe me when i tell you that
i could handsomely exceed the asking
price if i did not wish it to stay in
this rust free enviroment. I am only
considering selling one of my DS's, so
its either this one or the 23 that will
go. Come and have a look and see what
you think of this gallic beauty. |

LA GP is probably the best DS in the
land, having a genuine 130,000 kms from
new. It was also a one owner car when i
bought it some 12 years ago and i have
done 40,000 of those kms. The last year
of production, with five speed manual
gearbox, this car has been cherished all
of its life, and it shows. It is
entirely original, never having had rust
nor accident damage. I have painted the
odd panel from time to time but that was
because the paint had got too thin from
polishing and was showing its primer a
bit. The boot lid is the next panel to
be painted for the same reason. It still
has its original interior, which is
vinyl and tan in colour. Tyres are
almost new and the car has just been
comprehensively serviced, including its
original brake pads replaced, at the DS
Centre. ALL remedial work required over
the years, has been done like the
starter motor, power steering,
suspension etc. This is the prettiest DS
you will ever see. Again it has been
covetted by many overseas dealers and
collectors alike but the old girl simply
has to stay. This car is easily twelve
thousand pounds worth [ R192000 ]. I
want considerably less than that for it
to stay. If you desire to have the very
best, contact me. I am only selling one

something romantic, something nostalgic

I have a problem when it comes to
Citroens. I have been described as being
a very good salesman, but am unable to
sell Citroens. I find myself telling
prospective buyers all of the pitfalls
of ownership, i even search for flaws in
the character of future owners, anything
to prevent some poor bugger from
wresting ownership of these quirky
machines from my grasp. I dont fully
understand it as i have been priveleged
to own some incredible machinery in my
long career in the classic and
collectable environment, some mouth
watering examples of cars that i have
sold on without so much as a blink of an
eye, except for these Gallic
curiosities. My wife believes it to be a
sickness as do most of my fellow
collectors. I currently have five
Citroens and my wife is tired of her car
standing out in the elements so i have
promised her that i will make an effort
to reduce my obsession. The 15 is a good
one, Slough built, remarkably devoid of
the tin worm [ or snail ] and full of
original parts, particularly in the
engine bay. Havent seen a better one for
sale in ages [ yes, rather pathetically,
i look at all Citroens that come on to

CLASSIC CAR JENSEN INTERCEPTOR III
|
1975 |
SILVER |
52000km |
R155,000.00 |
| |
| Many
people are blissfully unaware of the
Jensen but it was a significant car of
the 60's and 70's, competing against the
likes of Aston Martin, Jaguar, Ferrari,
Maserati and Lamborghini. It was
expensive and virtually hand built, a
collaberation of English design, Italian
body and American muscle. There has
never been anything like it since. To
say that this car has presence is an
understatement. The problem with the
supercars of the sixties was that they
had such a reputation for unreliability
and difficulty of everyday use. They
were hard to control, tricky to keep in
tune and generally hard work. Jensen
addresed these issues by fitting the
ultra reliable 440 cubic inch Chrysler
unit mated to the virtually unbreakable
Chrysler gearbox, the car was lavishly
trimmed in connoly type hides with a
whole herd gallantly giving up their
right to live just to be part of the
Jensen. The body style was sublime with
its unique goldfish bowl rear window.
Unique looking and certainly unique
sounding, it was the preferred choice of
many a playboy who could not bear the
thought of braking down on the side of
the road and getting his cravat wet. Its
an absolute pleasure to have this
vehicle here for sale and i trust that
it will give much pleasure here forward. |

it is in many ways superior to the MK2.
This model has got a collection of
restoration bills that would make your
eyes water. Not an unusual amount if you
know anything about restoring cars, lets
just say that a lot of the pain has been
taken out of classic Jaguar ownership,
over a quarter of a million rands worth
of work in the last three years
actually, which rather makes a mockery
of the asking price, doesnt it ? Come

| The
car that launched a thousand schoolboy
dreams, the only car to have appeared in
two James Bond movies. The Esprit, when
launched, stood the traditional sports
car business on its head. With everyone
going bigger, larger capacity and more
complicated, Lotus, true to Colin
Chapmans philosophy of less is more,
produced a perfectly balanced, low
weight mid engined supercar with just a
2.2 litre turbo charged engine that blew
away its contemporaries, think Ferrari
308, Maserati Merak, Lambo Uracco, and
the like. It was also a fabulous shape,
the proportions being the template for
every supercar thereafter to emulate in
some way. This example is largely
original, has had its engine rebuilt in
the last 10,000 kms and offers blinding
value for money considering the other
two currently available at R250K and
350K at more profit conscious
dealerships. Come and have a look. |

ROVER COUPE P5B

| When
last did you see a P5B Coupe in this
country ? It is indeed a rare and
elegant beast. Prices in the UK are
currently well north of 10,000 Pounds.
The B, for those who dont know, was
identified by two rather dramatic
changes, the lowered roof line which
gave the four door car its dramatic
coupe look, and the 3.5 litre all
aluminium V8 engine which was to become
one of the longest running production
engines in history, going into
subsequent Rover models as well as
powering Range Rovers for 20 years of
production, Morgans,and TVR's. The car
is remarkably original in appearance and
runs with silky smoothness. It has
reputedly only had 3 owners from new and
had a complete engine overhaul some
10,000 miles ago. The car is not perfect
but is as good as one could expect for a
40 year old. The car has great presence
and was produced when England still knew
how to put a car together. It was much
loved by Royalty and politicians alike.
The Queen mother was the cars greatest
fan and it is reputed that she still had
an unused one in mothballs when she left
us. Such character for such little money |

| A
really stunning example, excellent
colour combination and seriously good
condition example of the most sucessful
TVR ever built. What a good looking
sports car this is. Everything about
this car suggests responsible ownership,
from the condition of the interior to
the bodywork. A classic car of the
future, without a question of doubt.
Beautiful. |

VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE CABRIOLET (LEFT HAND

| Not
to be confused with all those chopped
rag top Beetles you see around, this is
the original and highly collectable
Karmann Convertible. They are rare here
as they were never available. This
example is in very good order, is a 72
large rear tail light model, and has a
new, and very expensive new hood fitted. |

VOLVO XC70 2.4T

| Nice
example that exemplifies what good
ownership can do to a car. It has a full
dealer service history, original
bodywork, newish tyres, excellent trim
and would easily convince anyone that it
had done 120,000 kms not 220,000. A
solid workhorse with surprising comfort
and performance. |

HOUSE, |
| Here
goes a sweeping statement ; The XC90 is
the best four wheel drive people carrier
on the market !!. I have had them all of
every make and model but nothing
compares to the T6. Its got incredible
performance, its quiet, the suspension
is so wonderfully compliant to all
surface conditions, it is a proper 7
seater, not a 5 seater with two extra
benches for legless people, it tows so
well. Its as close to a car in its
driving impression as you can get. Have
you not noticed just how many of them
are on the road. Yet they are so
affordable compared to the other
pretenders. Volvo should be singing from
the highest mount about this product. |
